In the initial stages of developing a marketing strategy for Polaris Career Center, the creation of a new logo was determined to be necessary, due to year’s of erosion of the school’s visual identity. Not wanting to throw the baby out with the bathwater, Bomba, O'Neil & Co. considered the fact that a star had historically been employed in past logo treatments and was still a strong design element. The type style was updated to an italic, forward moving, letter form with the star integrated into the letter "A". In addition, an action form or "swash" was included to add an inferrence of motion to the star.
